Rey of Light Supports a “School Making A Difference”

The Rey of Light Scholarship Benefit for Students, was held April 29, is one very big way that friends of DePaul Cristo Rey make a difference. This was the fifth year for the dinner auction which has raised more than $1.6 million in financial assistance for DPCR students in its short history.

Alison and Tim Warning chaired the event to raise hundreds of thousands more dollars because every DPCR student receives financial aid, and Rey of Light is the single, largest source of scholarship funding. The Warnings were assisted by vice chairs Julie and Brian Ross and an energetic volunteer committee.

A segment of the evening was the preview of this video which highlights two students of the 2017 graduating class.  We are proud to partner with DePaul Cristo Rey and very proud of Kurtis; all that he has accomplished and will continue to accomplish as he moves to college.

“The people who come to Rey of Light understand the need for change in our community to break the cycle of poverty. They see that this school is making a difference.”  Michele Schuster, past Rey of Light chair
